Our sixth debate was against the undefeated Widemere.

Going into the debate we were definitely the underdogs. We were the Affirmative team and the topic was that “technology has changed our lives for the better” we were arguing that this was true. Going into the debate we were definitely the underdogs. We thought we were heading into another loss but how wrong we were!! It actually turned out to be a close debate and we just scraped through by the skin of our teeth!! Win number 2 of the forgettable debating season. That was our last win of the season.

This story is only part true and some parts may have been changed to suit the game.

480BC:

In the second Persian invasion the Spartans sacrificed themselves for the rest of the Greek army. The Spartans fought valiantly but were defeated by their enemies not by strength but by sheer numbers. After the battle the Persians attacked the undefended city of Sparta, when the Persians arrived at Sparta they found a near deserted city.

They killed all in their way and burnt down all their buildings but what they did not know that most of Sparta was underground in an underground city build by King Leonidas 3 years ago because he feared defeat from his enemies.

2487 years later………

Archaeologists have found an entrance to what they think leads to an underground city. It appears to be right under the Ancient city of Sparta. You are a specially trained archaeologist who has been elected for this dangerous mission of great importance. Your objective is to find out more about this supposed lost city and bring back artefacts to the modern world for everyone to see!

The Tudors was a dynasty that ruled England from 1485 to 1603. The Tudor dynasty consisted of Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I. During the Tudor’s reign people were very unhygienic and short. During the reign over England people thought that the Earth was flat and ships would fall off if they went to far but others speculated otherwise and were proven correct later in the Modern Era. One of the most prolific and longest wars during the Tudors reign was the War of the Roses (White Rose House of York and the Red Rose House of Lancaster) which lasted 30 years.

I chose Algebra equations because I wanted to try something new and challenging. My presentation will show you how to solve a simple equation. The question that I’m going to teach you how to solve is: What is the value of Z in the equation Z×250=40000?

Z×250=40000 First we need to make use of the 2 numbers that we already know: Z×250=40000→ 40000?250 But we also need to work out the operation that we are going to use which will be the opposite operation to the one in the number sentence Z×250=40000. Here’s another example: Z+7=16→16?7=Z opposite operation to plus(+) is minus(-) 16-7=Z so 16-7=9 so that means 9=Z. Now back to our main problem. We needed to find the opposite operation to the one in the number sentence Z×250=40000.The operation in the number sentence is times so the opposite operation is divide.(÷).Z×250=40000→ 40000?250→40000÷250=Z.40000÷250=Z will give us the answer to the question.

40000÷250=Z→40000÷250=160 Z=160.The value of Z in the equation Z×250=40000 is 160.

I was scouting the surroundings of the battlefield when I spotted a cave at the corner of my eye. I walked cautiously towards the large cave when I suddenly see 2 eyes peering at me from the darkness of the cave filled with hatred and revenge. The mysterious creature crept out of the cave. I couldn’t believe my eyes I was standing in front of a dragon. The dragon towered above me; its scales shimmered in the sun. It stretched its wings majestically. The dragon rocketed off the ground and glided above the tree canopy like a kite in a calm breeze. The dragon then swooped back down to the ground right towards me….BANG… I wake up on the battlefield I don’t know how I got here then I suddenly remember the dragon, could it of all been a dream?

Yesterday, 14th June we tried to set the scene and mood of the Samorost game. Here are my pieces of writing:

Feeling helpless I dangle amongst the ancient branches and plants of the aging rainforest suspended only by a rusted metal chain. This was just like an amusement ride, I think to myself but the only difference was that if something went horribly wrong their would be no one to aid me if I was wounded. Rocking unsteadily in the darkness of the metallic ball. I think if I will get to the ground safely or drop to my death.

It was a logic game, you had to observe his surroundings and try to find things that you can click to progress to the next level. When you play this game you have to be very observant. When you play this game you have to be very logical. When you activate certain objects or certain people you have to think how it will affect your surroundings, by activating this object you need to think how does it link with any other object. if you want to play Samorost then here is the website:
